Wapi: Media
Open this page: admin.<your-site>/media (replace <your-site> with your site address)
Kabla ya kuanza
- You need permission to upload media to see Pakia picha. Without it you can still look and download.
- Photo storage must be ready for your site. If it is not, a notice at the top says so, and your stories can still be published without photos.
Hatua
- In the menu, open Vyombo vya habari. The page is titled Maktaba ya media.
- Tap Pakia picha and choose your photos. On a phone you can take a new photo. You can pick several at once.
- To add a video, audio file or document, tap Weka video, sauti au faili.
- Tap a picture to open it. A side panel opens on a laptop. On a phone or tablet it fills the screen.
- In Alt text, maelezo mafupi na mhusika, write the alt text, the caption and the credit, for example "Photo: Agency name". Tap Hifadhi.
- Tap Funga when you finish.
Muhimu kujua
- The Maktaba tab shows your own files. The Picha za bure tab finds free pictures and copies the one you choose into your library, with its credit.
- Alt text says what the photo shows. Blind readers hear it and search engines use it. It also names the image file, see the SEO file name.
- A small warning mark on a picture means "No alt text", or that its licence is ending.
- A picture can show Inasubiri, Processing, Tayari or Imeshindikana. Sizes are made after the upload, so a new picture may take a moment.
- In the open panel you can use Hariri picha, Badilisha picha, Hamisha hadi…, Pakua faili, Maelezo yote and Inapotumika na kufuta.
- Badilisha picha keeps the links and the stories that use the picture. The old file is kept as an earlier version, and you can use Rejesha.
- The panel tells you how many articles use a picture ("Used in # article").
Matatizo ya kawaida
- I cannot see Upload images. Your role cannot upload media. Ask your site owner.
- "Photo storage is being set up for your site. Uploads will work as soon as it’s ready — your articles can still be published without photos." Wait until storage is ready.
- "Upload failed. Check your connection and try again." Check your internet and upload again.
- "… is too large. Images can be up to … MB." Make the photo smaller, or see file size limits.
- "This file type is not allowed. Use JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or GIF." Save the photo in one of these types and upload it again. See supported formats.
- "This image is too big — max 40 megapixels." Make the photo smaller (fewer pixels) in a photo app, then upload it again.
- "The file is not the type it says it is." The file name ends in one type but the file is another. Open it in a photo app, save it again as JPEG or PNG, and upload that.
- "The upload expired. Add the file again." The upload took too long. Add the file again.
- "The upload link expired. Add the file again." Add the file again; a new link is made for you.
- "Too many uploads at once. Wait a minute and try again." Wait a minute, then upload fewer images at a time.
- "Photo storage isn’t set up on this site yet. Update your site to upload images." Install the waiting update from Mipangilio → Mipangilio ya kina → Sasisho la programu, then upload again.
