Innan du börjar

• You need permission to upload media to see Ladda upp bilder. Without it you can still look and download.
• Photo storage must be ready for your site. If it is not, a notice at the top says so, and your stories can still be published without photos.

1. In the menu, open Media. The page is titled Mediebibliotek.
2. Tap Ladda upp bilder and choose your photos. On a phone you can take a new photo. You can pick several at once.
3. To add a video, audio file or document, tap Lägg till video, ljud eller fil.
4. Tap a picture to open it. A side panel opens on a laptop. On a phone or tablet it fills the screen.
5. In Alt-text, bildtext och byline, write the alt text, the caption and the credit, for example "Photo: Agency name". Tap Spara.
6. Tap Stäng when you finish.

Bra att veta

• The Bibliotek tab shows your own files. The Gratisbilder tab finds free pictures and copies the one you choose into your library, with its credit.
• Alt text says what the photo shows. Blind readers hear it and search engines use it. It also names the image file, see the SEO file name.
• A small warning mark on a picture means "No alt text", or that its licence is ending.
• A picture can show Väntar, Processing, Klar or Misslyckades. Sizes are made after the upload, so a new picture may take a moment.
• In the open panel you can use Redigera bild, Ersätt bild, Flytta till…, Ladda ner fil, Alla detaljer and Var den används och ta bort.
• Ersätt bild keeps the links and the stories that use the picture. The old file is kept as an earlier version, and you can use Återställ.
• The panel tells you how many articles use a picture ("Used in # article").

Vanliga problem

• I cannot see Upload images. Your role cannot upload media. Ask your site owner.
• "Photo storage is being set up for your site. Uploads will work as soon as it’s ready — your articles can still be published without photos." Wait until storage is ready.
• "Upload failed. Check your connection and try again." Check your internet and upload again.
• "… is too large. Images can be up to … MB." Make the photo smaller, or see file size limits.
• "This file type is not allowed. Use JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or GIF." Save the photo in one of these types and upload it again. See supported formats.
• "This image is too big — max 40 megapixels." Make the photo smaller (fewer pixels) in a photo app, then upload it again.
• "The file is not the type it says it is." The file name ends in one type but the file is another. Open it in a photo app, save it again as JPEG or PNG, and upload that.
• "The upload expired. Add the file again." The upload took too long. Add the file again.
• "The upload link expired. Add the file again." Add the file again; a new link is made for you.
• "Too many uploads at once. Wait a minute and try again." Wait a minute, then upload fewer images at a time.
• "Photo storage isn’t set up on this site yet. Update your site to upload images." Install the waiting update from Inställningar → Avancerat → Programuppdatering, then upload again.
