How do I set up the stages a story goes through?

Where: Newsroom → Approval steps

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings/workflow (replace <your-site> with your site address). In the menu it sits under More.

Before you start

• Owners and admins set the workflow.

Steps

1. Open Newsroom then Approval steps (Workflow).
2. Under Stages tap Add a stage and give it a Stage name.
3. Choose the Story status in this stage: Draft stories stay private, In review stories wait for an editor.
4. Choose Who can move a story in.
5. Use Move up and Move down to order stages.
6. Under Embargo presets tap Add a preset, name it, set Embargo lifts at (or leave it empty) and a Note for editors.
7. Save. You see "Workflow saved."

Good to know

• A story under embargo stays hidden from readers until the time.
• Embargo presets may need a feature. Included in some plans: see your plan on keynate.com.
