How do I create a discount code for my readers?

Where: Readers & money → Coupons

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/money/coupons (replace <your-site> with your site address). In the menu it sits under More.

Before you start

You need permission to manage payments. Selling needs the Memberships feature, see Plans.

Steps

1. Open Readers & money, then Coupons.
2. Tap New coupon.
3. Enter the Code: 3–24 letters, numbers or dashes, for example WELCOME20.
4. Under Type of discount, choose Percent off or Fixed amount off, and enter the amount.
5. Under Works on, pick plans. Leave empty for every plan.
6. Optionally set Maximum uses and Last day.
7. Tap Create coupon.

Good to know

• The discount applies to every billing cycle of the subscription, not only the first.
• After you create a coupon, the discount cannot change, because subscribers keep their price. You can switch it On or Off, or change the maximum uses and last day.
• The list shows Code, Discount, Status, Used and Last day.

Common problems

• "Use 3–24 letters, numbers or dashes for the code."
• "Percent must be between 1 and 100."
• "Enter an amount above zero."
