What are content types?

Where: Settings → Content & publishing → Content types

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings/content-types (replace <your-site> with your site address). If you don’t see it in the menu, turn on Show all settings on the Settings page.

Before you start

• This feature is part of your site by default.

Steps

1. Open Settings → Content & publishing → Content types.
2. Add a type. Name it and choose its web address.
3. Add the fields your team will fill in.
4. Add entries under Stories, then Jobs, events & more.

Good to know

• Features such as jobs, public notices and recipe cards use content types.
• You cannot switch this feature off. Built-in features do not have a switch in Features.

Common problems

I do not see my type in Stories. Why: The type has not been saved, or your role cannot edit entries. Fix: Check Content types, or ask the owner for access.
