What does a locked story show?

Where: Readers & money → Paywall

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/money/paywall (replace <your-site> with your site address). In the menu it sits under More.

Steps

1. Open Readers & money, then Paywall.
2. In Free premium stories, choose the Preview length.
3. Under Free sign-in prompt, turn on Ask visitors to sign in.
4. Set Free stories before the prompt.
5. Under Never interrupt visitors who come from, choose Search engines, Social media, Notifications or Newsletters.
6. Tap Save on each card.

Good to know

• The preview is what everyone sees, search engines too.
• Visitors from the chosen sources always read freely. This keeps your search and social traffic healthy.
• When the prompt is off, "Visitors are never asked to sign in just to read free stories."
• The free sign-in prompt is separate from paying.
