Steps
- Open the story in the editor.
- Find Who can read this story.
- Choose one:
- Everyone. Anyone can read the whole story.
- Signed-in readers. Readers with a free account can read it.
- Members. Paying subscribers can read it. Others get a few free premium stories a month.
- Only invited readers. Only the readers you list, or people with a private link, can open it. Nobody else sees it.

- Press Save who can read.
Good to know
- This is saved apart from the story and applies to the live story at once. You do not need to publish again.
- The free views and the preview length are set in the Paywall.
- The preview is what search engines see too.
Common problems
- "Save the story first." The story has no copy yet. Save it, then choose.
- I cannot change it. Only people who can publish stories can.
- Readers cannot sign in. Turn it on with Let readers sign in.
