How do I set up a farming and rural news site?

In this story

Where: Settings → Site & brand → Set up your site

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/setup (replace <your-site> with your site address)

Eight designs

Each design has its own look. Open the live demo of each one before you choose. The demos open in all 53 languages.

  • Croprate: market prices first, with a big price board, weather and a crop calendar. It is light for slow networks.
  • Fieldpost: a village news portal with a news band, village strips, a market box and farm videos.
  • Bushelboard: a farm business front with a cash-bid board, markets and policy columns.
  • Furrowline: a calm policy magazine with numbered explainers and soil and climate features.
  • Tractorbay: a machinery magazine with a price board, test reports and dealer news.
  • Pastureline: a dairy and livestock desk with a milk and feed price board and animal-care guides.
  • Seedlane: a magazine for farm startups and organic food, with a funding board.
  • Barnchat: a simple update feed with short message cards, one price box and one join button. It is the lightest page.

What is ready for you

Sections. Market prices, Weather, Crop advice, Livestock and dairy, Machinery, Schemes and policy and Rural life. The English set has Farm business and Agritech and organic instead of Weather and Rural life. You can rename them or leave some out when you choose them.

Story starters. In the editor, under Start from:

  • Farm news
  • Market price report
  • Crop guide
  • Scheme explainer
  • Machine review
  • Photo story

A machine review and a scheme explainer need their sources filled in.

Switched on for you. Breaking ticker and flag, FAQ blocks and photo galleries. The Hindi set adds a messenger button. The English set adds the review box.

Your words. The admin says Farm alert for urgent news.

Steps: first hour

  1. Open Settings, then Set up your site.
  2. Choose your languages. Hindi and English are the first suggestions.
  3. Create your sections. Pick Farm and rural news, Hindi or Farm business and policy news, English. Nothing changes until you apply.
  4. Pick features. Weather and air quality, push alerts and newsletters are offered. Paid ones are only offered.
  5. Arrange your home page, then set up ads.
  6. Publish trust and legal pages.
  7. Add your first prices. See "Price boards" below.
  8. Write your first story.

Price boards

Your design shows a price board with sample prices. They are only samples. Replace them with your own.

  1. Open Stories, then Price boards.
  2. Choose New price board and add your rows: the crop or item, the market, the unit, the price and the date.
  3. Check each date. Readers trust a board that shows when it was updated.

Where: Stories → Price boards

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/price-boards (replace <your-site> with your site address)

Good to know

  • You enter the prices. Keynate does not bring in live market prices. Write your market, the unit and the date next to every price.
  • Machinery prices. Show them as showroom prices that may vary.
  • The AI helpers use what you give them. They write a price report only from the rows you give. They never invent doses or rates. They write drafts only. A person publishes.
  • Add-ons for this kind of site. Popular ones are weather, push alerts, newsletters, live updates and web stories. Some are included in some plans: see your plan on keynate.com.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Will the price board update by itself?

No. You or your team update it. Do not promise live prices to your readers.

Can I run it in Hindi and English?
