How do I set up my site in Settings?

In this story

Where: Settings (Set up your site section)

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings (replace <your-site> with your site address)

Before you start

  • Open Settings from the admin menu.
  • You only see the cards you are allowed to open. Most cards need the owner or an admin. The Ads card is for the owner only.
  • Some cards depend on a feature. If your site does not have it yet, the card says Add-on. See your plan on keynate.com.

Steps

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Find Set up your site. The line under the title says how many are done, for example "3 of 9 done".
  3. Read each card's status chip: Done, Needs attention, Not set up, Add-on or Couldn't check.
  4. Press the button on a card. It reads Set up, Fix it, Change, See add-on or Turn on, depending on the status.
  5. Finish the screen it opens, then come back. The status updates by itself.

Good to know

  • Start at the top. The first card, Make your site public, comes first on purpose.
  • A card that fails its check never counts as done. It shows Couldn't check. Press Open to look yourself.
  • Skip what you do not need. There is no required order.
  • Home also has a "Get your site ready" panel that uses the same checks.

Common problems

  • A card is missing. You do not have permission to open that screen, so it is hidden. Ask the site owner.
  • A card says "Add-on". The feature is not on your site. The card says "Not part of your plan yet. Add it to use it." Press See add-on.
  • A card says "This feature is switched off." Press Turn on.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to finish every card?

No. Only do the ones your site needs. Ads, for example, are optional.

Why does a card say Needs attention?

A connection you set up earlier is not working, or a step is missing. Press Fix it to open the screen that explains why.

Where is the step-by-step wizard?
