Steps

  2. On a phone or tablet: the screen says "Pick photos from your phone's gallery, or take a new one." Tap Choose from your photos to pick from your gallery, or tap Take a photo to use the camera. There is no drag or paste on a phone.
  3. On a laptop: drag photos onto Drag photos here, click Choose photos, or paste a copied image with Ctrl+V or ⌘V.
  4. Photos start uploading as soon as you pick them. Wait for each file. States are Waiting, Uploading … and Preparing sizes….
  5. Under Describe the image (alt text), write what the photo shows.
  6. Tap Insert. Alt texts are saved first.

  • Alt text is "Read aloud to blind readers and used by Google. Also names the image file."
  • A summary shows how many are done and failed.
  • You can tap Edit image on a finished upload.
  • Insert stays off while an upload runs.

Common problems

  • "Your role can’t upload images. Pick one from the library or ask an editor." Ask your site owner to change your role.
  • "… is not a supported image type." See supported formats.
  • "… is too large. Images can be up to … MB." Make the file smaller.
  • "Upload failed. Check your connection and try again."
