How do I add code or a maths formula?

In this story

Where: Stories → All stories → The story editor

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/articles (replace <your-site> with your site address). Then open the one you want.

Steps

  1. Code block: open Insert, then More blocks, then Code block. Choose the Language and optionally a File name (optional).
  2. Maths formula: choose Maths formula (block), or Inline maths inside a sentence. Type the Formula (LaTeX), for example x^2 + y^2 = z^2.
  3. Add a Spoken description (screen readers) that says the formula in words.

Common problems

  • "This formula uses a command that isn’t allowed (links, files, HTML or macro definitions)." Only safe LaTeX is allowed. Remove the command.
  • "An opening or closing brace is missing its partner." Unbalanced braces. Add the missing brace.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

So readers using a screen reader can understand the formula.
