How do I set the story label, key points and corrections?

In this story

Where: Stories → All stories → The story editor

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/articles (replace <your-site> with your site address). Then open the one you want.

Where to find it

On a laptop it is in the right-hand column of the story editor. On a phone or tablet, scroll down below the story. Open Trust: story label, key points, corrections.

Steps

  1. Story label: pick what kind of story it is, for example news, opinion or sponsored. Pick No label for a normal story.
  2. Key points: add 3 to 5 short points. They show above the story.
  3. Conflict of interest: declare anything readers should know, for example that the writer is related to the subject.
  4. Sponsor: for paid stories, add the sponsor name and the line readers see.
  5. AI-assisted: turn on Show the "AI-assisted" label when AI wrote or changed text. An editor approves it before publishing.
  6. Corrections and updates: after publishing, add a note when you fix something. Notes can never be deleted.

Good to know

  • Everything here is optional, except the sponsor details on a sponsored story.
  • Google Discover at the top tells you if your lead image is big enough.

Why can I not edit a correction note?

Readers must be able to trust that corrections stay. You can add a new note instead.
