How do I check that Google can find my story?

In this story

Where: Stories → All stories → The story editor

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/articles (replace <your-site> with your site address). Then open the one you want.

Where to find it

On a laptop it is in the right-hand column of the story editor. On a phone or tablet, scroll down below the story. Open Can Google find this story?. Save the story first.

Steps

  1. Open Can Google find this story?.
  2. Read each line. A tick means it is fine.
  3. Google can find this story means it is in the list of pages Google reads.
  4. Hidden from Google shows when the story is hidden on purpose, or because it is a translation nobody reviewed yet.
  5. Picture for Google Discover tells you if the lead image is big enough.

Good to know

  • These are checks, not a promise of a place in Google.
  • A new story can take a few hours to a few days to appear on Google.
