How do I check and run an import?

Where: Stories → Import old stories → Import

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings/import (replace <your-site> with your site address). Then open the one you want.

Steps

1. Open the import. When it says the source is ready, you reach the step Check first (nothing is saved). Tap Run the check.
2. Read What the check found: what will be imported and what will not (pages, trashed or private, already imported, duplicates).
3. Read Warnings and the Link map, which shows each old address and the new address it will redirect to.
4. Pick how stories arrive, then tap Start import.
5. Watch Import progress: Imported, Skipped, Failed, With warnings.
6. Tap View imported stories, or Retry failed items. The Import report stays on this page.

Good to know

• Tap Cancel import to stop. It stops after the current item.
• If an import stopped, Resume import continues it.
• Tap Check again to re-run the check.
