In this story
Who can take part
- Referrer. A Keynate customer with at least one paid order that was not refunded, whose account is in good standing.
- Friend. A person or business that has never paid Keynate before, signing up with their own name, email, phone and payment details.
How a referral counts
- Your friend must open your invite link, or enter your code at their first checkout.
- A friend can be referred once, for life.
- One code per order: your friend uses either your invite code or a coupon, whichever saves more.
What each side gets
- Your friend gets the invite discount on their first order, as shown at checkout.
- Your friend gets a percent off their first qualifying site, as shown at checkout.
- You get a percent of your friend's first qualifying payment as Keynate Wallet credit. GST, server fees and setup fees are not counted. The credit is never more than what that order earned Keynate, so on a heavily discounted order it can be smaller.
- The credit lands as soon as your friend's site is live. If Keynate ever adds a waiting time, your account shows it.
- The credit is never more than what that order earned Keynate, so you may see a smaller amount on a heavily discounted order.
- Credit pays Keynate orders only. It expires after the period shown in your wallet. It cannot be withdrawn, transferred or exchanged for cash.
Limits
There is a limit on how many friends a month earn a reward, and a yearly limit per currency. They are shown in your account. A referral above a limit earns no credit. Your friend keeps their discount.
Refunds and chargebacks
- Friend's setup fails (they are refunded automatically), or the order is refunded or cancelled before their site is live: no reward.
- Refunded or charged back after the credit was given: Keynate takes the credit back from your unspent wallet credit. Any part already spent is set off against your future rewards. Keynate never charges your card for it.
Fair use
- No self-referrals, duplicate or fake accounts, shared payment methods with your friend, or paying someone to sign up.
- No spam. Don't bid on "Keynate" in search ads or pretend to be Keynate.
- Keynate checks each referral for signs of abuse. A referral may be held for review for a few days. You see only its status.
- Keynate may refuse or reverse rewards that break the terms. It may change or stop the programme. Credit already added stays in your wallet.
Taxes
Rewards are credit for Keynate services, not cash. Any income tax on them is your own matter.
