How do I set up authors and bylines?

Where: Stories → Authors

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/authors (replace <your-site> with your site address)

Before you start

• This feature is part of your site by default.

Steps

1. Open Stories, then Authors.
2. Add an author with a photo, bio and links.
3. In a story, choose the author. For a guest or an agency, choose that kind of byline instead.

Good to know

• If an author has a link to what they cover, use Declare an interest to say so. Readers see it on every story by that author.
• You can also create an author from inside the story editor.
• You cannot switch this feature off. Built-in features do not have a switch in Features.

Common problems

The author page does not show a photo. Why: No photo was added to the author. Fix: Open Authors, edit the author and add a photo.
