Where: Stories → Sections & tags
Open this page: admin.<your-site>/taxonomy (replace <your-site> with your site address)
Before you start
- This feature is part of your site by default.
- You need permission to edit the site structure.
Steps
- Open Stories, then Sections & tags.
- Add a section. Give it a name; the web address is made for you.
- To make a sub-section, choose the section it belongs to.
- Put the section in your header or footer in Menus.
Good to know
- A section address can not be one that the site already uses for something else. The screen tells you when a name is not allowed.
- You cannot switch this feature off. Built-in features do not have a switch in Features.
Common problems
I cannot make a sub-section under a sub-section. Why: Sections have two levels only. Fix: Make it a tag instead, or a sub-section of the top-level section. See Tags and topic pages.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
How many levels can I have?
Two. A section can have sub-sections, but a sub-section cannot have its own.
Do sections work per language?
Yes. Every section belongs to one language edition and has its own name there.
How do I show a section in the menu?
Add it in Menus.
