How do I make a web story?

In this story

Where: Stories → Web Stories

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/m/web-stories (replace <your-site> with your site address)

Before you start

  • This is an add-on. It is included in some plans: see your plan on keynate.com (Choose a plan).
  • Only the site owner can add it.
  • A publisher logo.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Site & brand → Add features. The page is called Features.
  2. Find Web stories. A paid feature shows Paid and Needs with the plan that has it. Tap Buy and finish the purchase on keynate.com (it may open in a new tab).
  3. Come back to Features. It shows Being set up for a few minutes, then On.
  4. Open Stories → Web Stories.
  5. Choose New story: blank, from a template, or from an article.
  6. Build pages in the studio and set each page duration and outlink.
  7. Run check and publish. Fix what the check shows, preview it, then publish.

Good to know

  • On a phone the canvas is full width and properties open as a bottom sheet.
  • Settings cover the publisher logo check, fonts, ads and analytics.
  • Paid features cannot be switched off in Features.

Common problems

I cannot find Web stories in my admin. Why: The feature is off or not yet installed. Fix: Open Settings → Site & brand → Add features. If it shows Buy, it is not in your plan yet. If it shows Being set up, wait a few minutes. Paid features you don't own are listed in the menu under Add more features.
