How do I create my owner account the first time?

Before you start

• Open the setup link from your site page on keynate.com. Do not copy it to other people: it creates the owner account.

Steps

1. Open the setup link. The page says Set up your site.
2. Check your email. It is filled in for you from your Keynate account.
3. Type Your name.
4. Under Choose a password, type 12 to 128 characters. A long phrase is easiest to remember.
5. Pick your Admin language.
6. Tap Create my account.
7. You see "Your site is ready. Welcome to Keynate News!" and the admin Home opens.

Good to know

• The setup link works once. If you open it a second time, it says to sign in instead.

Common problems

• "This setup link is not valid. Open a new one from your Keynate dashboard." The link is incomplete or was changed. Open the link again from your site page on keynate.com.
• "This setup link was already used. Sign in instead." The owner account already exists. Go to the sign-in page and sign in. If you forgot the password, see Forgot your password.
• "This site is already set up. Sign in instead." Someone already created the owner account. Sign in, or recover access with Owner account recovery.
