How do I see what my Google ads earn?

In this story

Where: Growth → Ads & deals → Ad income

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/growth/ads/revenue (replace <your-site> with your site address)

Before you start

You need permission to manage ads, and a Google Ad Manager or AdSense account.

Steps

  1. In Google Ad Manager or AdSense, open Reports and run a daily report with date, ad requests, impressions, matched requests, clicks and revenue.
  2. Download it as a CSV file (up to 2 MB). The first row must name the columns: Date, Ad unit, Ad requests, Impressions, Matched requests, Clicks, Revenue.
  3. In the admin, open Growth → Ads & deals → Ad income.
  4. Under Where the numbers are from, choose your source. Type the three-letter Currency. Tap Choose CSV file, then Upload.
  5. Read Income, RPM, Fill rate and Views, and the Day by day chart.

Good to know

  • Uploading the same days again replaces them, so nothing is counted twice.
  • If a row is wrong, nothing is saved. The page lists the rows to fix.
  • Fill rate is the share of ad requests that got an ad.
  • You can also connect Google Ad Manager so income is imported by itself every night. The card Google Ad Manager connection asks for the network code and a service-account key file. The key is stored encrypted and never shown again. Saving it needs a recent sign-in. Tap Import now, Change connection or Disconnect.
  • Uploading a report file works with or without the connection.

Common problems

  • "This file is over 2 MB. Download a shorter date range."
  • "Nothing was saved. Fix these rows in the file and upload it again:"
