How do I track where my site shows up in Google?

In this story

Where: Growth → Search & SEO → Your places in Google

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings/seo/positions (replace <your-site> with your site address). If you don’t see it in the menu, turn on Show all settings on the Settings page.

Before you start

  • You need permission to manage SEO.
  • Connect Search Console on the Search data page (Get found on Google). Until then you can still add searches to track, and the page shows Connect Search Console.

Steps

  1. Open Growth → Search & SEO → Your places in Google.
  2. Type a search in Search to track and tap Track.
  3. Read Average position (7 days), Change vs the week before, Clicks and Impressions for each.
  4. To remove one, tap Stop tracking.

Good to know

  • You can track up to 50 searches. The page shows "# of # searches".
  • Figures come from the last 7 days compared with the 7 before.
  • Positions differ by place and device.
  • Search Console data shows when it was last imported.

Common problems

  • "No Search Console data for this search yet."
