How do I add analytics, ad pixels or site verification?

In this story

Where: Settings → Site & brand → Visitor counters and pixels

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings/tags (replace <your-site> with your site address)

Before you start

  • You need permission to view integrations. Only the site owner can change custom code.
  • Have your IDs ready. Paste only the ID, not the code snippet.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Site & brand → Visitor counters and pixels.
  2. Under Analytics and pixels, paste the ID into the card for your tool. Tools: Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads conversion, Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, X Pixel, Plausible and Matomo.
  3. Leave a box empty to turn that tag off. Each card says which consent it waits for.
  4. Under Site verification, paste the code from Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Pinterest, Facebook domain or Yandex Webmaster. You can paste the whole meta tag. Keynate keeps only the code.
  5. Press Save. The page says "Saved. Publish your site to apply it."
  6. Press Publish in the banner, or open Site versions, and publish.

Custom code (owner only)

For a tool that has no card, the owner can add custom code.

  1. Under Custom code, paste your script in Code for the top of the page or Code for the end of the page.
  2. Under Run this code only after the reader agrees to, tick Analytics, Ads or both. This is required.
  3. Under Allowed hosts, list every website the code sends data to, one https address per line, like https://widget.example.com. A leading *. covers sub-domains.
  4. Check Changes since the saved version.
  5. Press Save code. You may be asked to confirm it is you.
  6. Publish your site.

Good to know

  • Custom code runs on every page after a reader agrees. Only paste code from a company you trust. If hosts are missing from Allowed hosts, browsers block those connections.
  • Earlier versions lists saved versions. Press Load into editor to bring one back.
  • The code is shown as text only. It is never run in the admin.
  • A byte counter shows "{used} of {max} bytes".
