How do I send status changes to my own status service?

In this story

Where: Settings → Advanced → Status page (Your own status service section)

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings/status#your-own-status-service (replace <your-site> with your site address). If you don’t see it in the menu, turn on Show all settings on the Settings page.

Before you start

  • You need permission to manage operations.
  • A service is connected on the server by whoever manages your hosting. If none is connected, the page says so.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Advanced → Status page.
  2. Find Your own status service.
  3. If it shows Connected, press Send a test to my status service. The page says "Test sent. It arrives within about 15 seconds."
  4. Read the numbers: Waiting, Failed for good and Last sent.

Good to know

  • It says whether each message is signed: "Each message is signed." or "Messages are not signed."
  • If the last message failed, the page shows the code. We keep retrying. See Background jobs.
