How do I download all my content?

Where: Settings → Advanced → Backups & downloads (Download your content section)

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings/data#download-your-content (replace <your-site> with your site address)

Before you start

• Only the site owner can export.
• One content export runs at a time.

Steps

1. Open Settings → Advanced → Backups & downloads.
2. Under Download your content, choose what to add:
   • Include comments.
   • Include personal data (readers, newsletter subscribers, internal notes and sources).
3. If you chose personal data, read the warning and confirm "Export personal data?". You will be asked to sign in again.
4. Press Start export. The page says "Export started."
5. Watch the progress bar. You can leave the page. It keeps going.
6. When the state is Ready, press Download under Recent exports.

Good to know

• Downloading a file with personal data is recorded in the activity log.
• The file will contain personal data about real people. Keep it safe, never share it, and delete it when you no longer need it.
• Stop export throws away the file made so far.
• Files are deleted after 24 hours.

Common problems

• The export shows Failed. Try again. The error message says if the disk was full.
