Before you start
- Connect your own AI account first. Use any AI with your own key
- You need the permission to manage AI. Owners have it.
- The check uses your AI account, not Keynate. Keynate sells no AI credits.
Steps
- Open Settings → Content & publishing → Your AI accounts. Find the AI health card and tap Check my AI. You can also open the menu on the AI chat and choose Check my AI.
- Read the line "Checking: " with the name of your model.
- Read the cost line. It says "This check is free." or "This check costs about (amount) on your AI account." If the price is not known, it says "a few cents at most."
- Tap Check my AI for the normal check. Tap Full check to also build the throwaway copy and make sure the site still works. The full check takes longer.
- If the check costs money, a box says This check costs a little. Tap Check my AI again to go ahead.
- Watch the steps tick off. The result is Your AI is ready or Needs attention.
What it checks

A step you ran a moment ago may say "Checked recently, no need to ask again."
What each failure means
Each failed step shows a short reason and a button.
- Your key was refused (Connection). The key is wrong or was removed. Tap Fix my key and paste a fresh key. This is the only case where you reconnect.
- The provider refused this model for your account (access, region or billing). Your key is fine. Tap Pick another model, or Open AI accounts to check billing with your provider.
- No credit left, or the key's spending limit is reached. Tap Open AI accounts. Add credit or raise the limit at your provider.
- Busy, too many requests, or the AI company has a problem. Tap Check again in a few minutes.
- No AI connected. Connect an AI account first.
- The model cannot use the tools, ignored them, lost track, did not make the edit, or left out the test text. This model is not strong enough to change a site. Tap Pick a capable model. The list shows only models that can change your site.
- The AI's edit could not be used. Try another model.
- Your site's AI part is out of date, or the server agent is too old for the build check. Tap Update your site.
- Keynate has been told. There is nothing you need to do. This shows when the edit was refused by a safety rule, the copy would not build, the test copy could not be made or removed, or the live site and saved version differ. Your live site is unchanged.
- The build check could not run because the preview is not running. This is a warning, not a failure. Try the Full check later.
- This site is hidden, so the check could not look at it.
- You have used today's checks. The page says when you can check again.
- A check is already running. Wait for it to finish.

Good to know
- Saving a key is separate. A valid key is always saved, even when the model needs another choice. Use any AI with your own key
- The AI health card on Your AI accounts shows Not checked, Done or Needs attention. On the AI page, a banner appears when your last check failed.

AI error reports
Under the steps, AI error reports has a switch. It is on by default. It sends only error codes and counts per hour to Keynate, so problems get fixed faster. It never sends your articles, messages, files, keys or addresses. Tap What is sent to see the fields. Turn it off and nothing is sent. If your site has no Keynate connection for reports, nothing is sent. See the Privacy Policy.
Common problems
- The page says "No AI connected yet." Tap Connect AI and add a key.
- It passed, but the AI still fails on a real task. Start the task again, or pick a different model. My AI does not work
- It keeps failing on "Safe test edit". Pick a stronger model. Cheap or small models often chat well but cannot change a site.

Does it change my live site?
No. It works on a throwaway copy and removes it. The last step proves nothing was left behind.
Does it cost money?
It uses your own AI account. The page shows the cost before you start. Some models are free.
Who can run it?
Members who can manage AI. Owners can. If you cannot open the page, ask your site owner.
