How do I choose which AI may be used?

In this story

Where: Settings → Content & publishing → AI rules (Which AI may be used section)

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings/ai-rules#kn-ai-prov (replace <your-site> with your site address)

Before you start

  • Only the site owner can change AI rules.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Content & publishing → AI rules → Rules tab.
  2. Under Which AI may be used, tap a source to allow or stop it: AI on your own server, Your OpenRouter key.
  3. Read the state next to each: working, slow or down.
  4. Turn on Try the next one when a source fails if you want a backup.
  5. Save.

Good to know

  • Your own OpenRouter key is used for the AI workspace tasks only, not for the editor helpers.
  • With the backup on, if the first AI is busy or over its limit, the helper tries the next allowed one.
