Steps for each app
Checked on the vendors' own pages on 2026-10-30. Vendor menus change. If a name does not match your screen, look for "connector", "app" or "custom app".
Claude (website, Claude Desktop and phone app)
Works on Free (one custom connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Source: Claude Help Center, custom connectors, read 2026-10-30.
- Open Customize → Connectors.
- Tap + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Type the name "Keynate". Paste
https://api.keynate.com/mcp. Tap Continue, then Add. - To see your own sites, tap Connect. keynate.com opens. Log in and tap Allow.
- In a chat, tap +, choose Connectors, and switch Keynate on.
On Team and Enterprise plans an owner of the Claude team adds it in Organization settings → Connectors. Then each person taps Connect.

ChatGPT

- In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings, then Apps, then "Advanced settings" and switch on Developer mode.
- Tap Create app. Type the name "Keynate" and paste
https://api.keynate.com/mcp. Choose OAuth. - To see your own sites, sign in to keynate.com when it opens, then tap Allow.
- In a chat, add Keynate from the + menu.
OpenAI says developer mode is for ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu on the web. Some guides say Plus and Pro also have it, but OpenAI's own page does not confirm this. Keynate has no tool that changes your account, so a read-only plan is enough. The menu has moved between updates. If you cannot find it, ask your workspace admin.
Gemini
- Gemini app (website). Source: Gemini Apps Help, custom apps, read 2026-10-30. Today it works only if you are 18 or older, in the US, with a personal Google account, the app language is English, and Keep Activity is on.
- Open gemini.google.com, then Settings, then "Connected Apps".
- Under Custom apps, tap Add a custom app.
- Paste

@and pick Keynate.

gemini mcp add --transport http keynate https://api.keynate.com/mcp. To sign in, type/mcp auth keynate. - Outside the US, under 18, or with a work account, Gemini cannot connect yet.
Test the address (for technical people)

Use your own news site from an AI app
You can also ask an AI app about your own news site (your stories and numbers). This is a different address and a different switch. It is not open yet. When it opens, you will find it in your News admin under Settings → Content & publishing → Use with ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini. Everyone will be able to read. Only the higher plans (see your plan on keynate.com) will be able to ask for story drafts. The AI app will never publish, delete, take payments or change security. A person on your team does that.
Stop it
- Open keynate.com, go to your account, and tap Connected AI apps. Tap Disconnect next to the app. It stops at once.
- Or remove Keynate inside the AI app.
Common problems
- The AI asks you to sign in. That is normal for "my sites" and "my invoices". Prices and templates need no sign-in.
- The prices look wrong. Tell the AI your country. Prices depend on it. The final price is always shown on keynate.com at Review & pay.
- Gemini or ChatGPT will not let you add it. See the plan and country notes above.
- Is it free? Yes. Keynate charges nothing for this. Your AI app may have its own plan or limits.
- Can the AI buy something for me? No. It gives you a link. You check and pay on keynate.com.
- Which address do I use?
https://api.keynate.com/mcp. It works with and without sign-in.
