Before you start
Your site has the Android or iPhone app.
Steps
- Open My sites, your site, Your apps. In the On this page menu tap Versions & publishing.
- Scroll to Store listing.
- If your site has more than one language, tap the language tab you want. A tab marked · draft has not been saved yet.
- Check or change the fields:
- App name in the store: up to 30 characters.
- Short description: up to 80 characters.
- Full description: up to 4,000 characters.
- Search keywords, App Store only (comma-separated): up to 100 characters. Google Play doesn't use them.
- Privacy policy address (your site's privacy page).
- Tap Save listing.
- Repeat for each language tab.
- The stores get the new texts with your next Publish.
Good to know
- The language tabs are the languages your site uses. Keynate never adds a language you did not choose for your site.
- The counter turns red when a text is too long. Shorten it before you save.
- Until your listing has a name and description, Google shows your package name. Want the right name in Google Play sooner? In Play Console open Grow users → Store presence → Main store listing, paste the same texts and press Save.
- To refresh the screenshots, start a new build.
- Some store questions are not part of the listing, such as content rating or ads. They are in Store checklists.
App name and store IDs
Under Versions & publishing, open App name and store IDs. Here you see the App name, the Android package name and the iOS bundle ID. Change the IDs only before the stores know your app. Once Google Play has your app's first version, or the App Store app exists, they are fixed and the fields are greyed out.
Common problems
- The store still shows old text. The stores get your listing when you publish a version. Publish again, then wait for the store's review.
- A language I expected is missing. Add the language to your site first. See Change your site language.
- Google rejected my listing. Use your own publication name and description, not a famous brand. See My app was rejected.

Is the store name the same as the name under the icon?
Not always. The name under the icon is set in App name and icon. Short names work best on phones.
Can I write the listing in my own words?
Yes. Keynate's text is only a start. Write what makes your site special for your readers.
