What is the investment disclaimer on my business and finance stories?

In this story

What readers see

A box with the title Disclaimer. and this text:

This is general information, not investment advice. Markets carry risk; check with a registered adviser before you invest.

The notice is plain text. It is never collapsed, so readers can't miss it. It appears in the website and in your apps, in every Business template.

Good to know

  • The wording is fixed for now. There is no screen to change the text or to add an adviser registration number. If you need your own legal wording, speak to your lawyer first, then ask Keynate support.
  • The price boards use the same line. On the screen where you connect market prices, the page says: "Every price block shows your investment disclaimer line."
  • The notice does not replace your own policies. Keep your Terms and Editorial policy pages up to date. See Set up your site.
  • Do not give buy or sell advice in your stories. The AI helpers in a business site are set to refuse it too. Name the filing, exchange or regulator you take figures from.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the disclaimer legal advice or a guarantee?

No. It is a general notice. Rules for finance writers differ by country. Ask a qualified adviser what you need.

Can I remove it?

The notice is part of the Business templates. This guide cannot confirm a setting that hides it. If your lawyer asks for a change, contact Keynate support.
