How do I show who medically reviewed a health story?

Where: Stories → All stories → The story editor

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/articles (replace <your-site> with your site address). Then open the one you want.

Before you start

• The reviewer must be an author on your site. Add them first. See Authors.
• You need permission to edit the story.

Steps

1. Open the story in the editor.
2. Open the panel Help Google and AI quote you right.
3. Under Reviewed by, open Kind of review. Choose Medical review. The other choices are Financial review, Legal review, Fact check and Expert review.
4. Open Reviewer (an author) and pick the person.
5. Set Reviewed on.
6. Save. This panel saves on its own, apart from the story text.
7. Publish the story.

To remove a review, set Kind of review to No review.

Good to know

• The reviewer has no separate profile page. Readers reach the reviewer through the author's page.
• If you pick a kind of review, you must also pick a reviewer. Without one, the panel cannot save.
• Make the reviewer's credentials public. On the author's page, choose Expertise. You can add the topics they know, their education and their degrees, licences and memberships. Under Reviews they may sign you set which kinds of review they sign.
• The publishing checklist can remind you. A rule called Expert reviewer says: "Health and business sites: every story names an expert who reviewed it." By default it warns you. It does not stop you from publishing.
• Nothing here guarantees a place in search results, Google News, Discover or AI answers.

Common problems

• I can't pick a reviewer. The list shows authors only. Add the person as an author.
• Readers don't see the line. Check that the story is published and that your template shows the medical notice box. See Medical disclaimer.
