How do I switch my site to another template?

In this story

Steps

  1. Open your site's admin. How do I open my site admin?
  2. Go to Settings → Site & brand → Change template
  3. Preview your site in another template. Change template
  4. Publish it when you like it. Nothing changes for your readers until you publish.
  5. To go back, use Go back on the same page.

A template you have not bought

If a template has its own price, the console page Switch to … explains it before you pay:

  • The price difference is charged for the days left in this month. The new monthly price starts at your next renewal.
  • Moving to a cheaper template gives you a credit on your next invoice.
  • Your paid features don't change.
  • After you pay, open your admin and publish it under Settings → Site & brand → Change template
  • If you already paid for that template, switching to it again is free.
  • Paying for a template online is not open yet. If the page says "Buying a template online is coming soon. Please contact support and we’ll switch it for you.", contact support and Keynate switches it for you. See How do I get help?.

Good to know

  • A "new template available" note on My sites means one is ready for you to publish.
  • You can also find a template's page on keynate.com to see its demo before you switch. Choose a template

Common problems

  • "Your site isn’t ready yet. Try again when it’s live."
  • "This template is live on your site now." To return to the old one, use Go back.
  • "We can’t find that template for this site." It may belong to another account, or the template isn't available for your site.
