Before you start
- What you see depends on your role and on the features your site has. A menu item you can not use is hidden. A paid feature you do not own can show a lock and lead to a page that explains it.
Steps
- On a computer or tablet: use the side menu. Tap Hide menu or Show menu to make it narrower.
- On a phone: use the bottom bar: Home, Stories, New story, Alerts and Menu. Menu opens everything else.
- Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on a Mac) to open "Search or jump to…". Type a word like "payments" or "team" and press Enter.
- Tap Help and Ask AI for help on the page you are on.
- Open Theme and Admin language from the preferences menu to change how the admin looks and reads.
The eight sections
- Home: today at a glance. See What can I do on the admin Home page?.
- Stories: New story, All stories, Authors, Sections & tags, Columns & series, People & places, Homepage, Menus, Announcement bar, Shared blocks, Jobs, events & more, Live blogs and Import old stories. Some niche tools also live here.
- Newsroom: team tools such as the queue, story board, calendar, pitches, Breaking news and the AI assistant.
- Media: your photo, video and file library, and media settings.
- Readers & money: orders, plans, coupons, subscribers and the paywall, when payments are on.
- Growth: visitor stats, SEO tools, ads, newsletters, forms and sign-up prompts.
- Trust & legal: the publishing checklist, privacy requests, complaints, takedown requests and the activity log.
- Settings: branding, template, languages, team, security, updates, your data and more. My account is in Settings too.
Good to know
- Settings groups its pages: Site, Content, Readers, Team and Advanced.
- Recent on Home brings you back to what you opened lately.
