How do I see which version I have and undo an update?

In this story

Where: Settings → Advanced → Software update

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings/updates (replace <your-site> with your site address)

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Advanced → Software update.
  2. Read Installed versions for the current version of each part.
  3. Scroll to History. Each entry shows an outcome: Installed, Undone automatically, Didn't start or Undone by you.
  4. To undo, press Undo this update and confirm.

Good to know

  • You can undo until the time shown: "You can undo it until {time}."
  • Undo is not always possible:
    • "Critical security updates can't be undone with one click."
    • "Only the newest update can be undone."
    • "This update changed stored data, so undoing it needs a restore. Contact Keynate support."
  • Undo returns your site to the previous version. Your articles and settings stay as they are.
  • If an update fails the health check, the history says "The update didn't pass the health check, so your site went back to the previous version. Nothing was lost."
  • Only the owner can undo.
