Before you start
- A Fireworks AI account.
- Billing or credit set up on that account.
- Only members who manage AI can connect an account, and you need to have signed in recently.
Steps
- Open the Fireworks AI keys page and sign in. If the page does not open, sign in at fireworks.ai, open your profile menu, then Settings and API Keys.
- Choose Create API Key and give it a name.
- Copy the key now. It is shown only once.
- Open the billing page and add credit or a payment method.
- In your site admin, open Settings → Content & publishing → Your AI accounts. Find the Fireworks AI card.
- Paste the key and tap Test & connect. You see "Checking your key…" and then Connected ✓.
It starts with fw_. Your admin checks the shape before it sends the key anywhere. Using AI providers
Good to know
- Fireworks bills per request. Keynate adds nothing on top.
- The key goes only to the AI workspace on your own server. Keynate never sees it and never adds a fee.
- Keep the key private. Never put it in a support ticket or a chat.
- If you stop using Fireworks AI, remove the account in Your AI accounts and delete the key on the Fireworks AI website too.
Common problems
Fireworks AI refused this key
Copy the whole key again. It must start with fw_.
Your Fireworks AI account has no credit left
Add credit on the billing page, then tap Test again.
No model on this account can make site changes
Choose another model from the model list.
Fireworks AI isn’t answering right now
Try again in a few minutes.
