What do the domain statuses mean?

In this story

The statuses

  • Waiting for your settings. Keynate has not found your settings yet. It checks every few seconds. This can take a few minutes, sometimes a few hours. You can close the page. Keynate emails you when it works.
  • Almost there. Keynate found some of your settings and is still waiting for the rest. The page says which.
  • Connected. Your address is connected. It opens as soon as your website is ready.
  • Securing your address. Keynate is setting up the secure lock. This usually takes under 2 minutes.
  • Live. Your website is live on the address, and it is secure.
  • Needs a fix. The settings in your domain account changed, so visitors may not reach your site. Put back the settings shown below. Tap Reconnect. Reconnect your domain
  • Paused. Keynate has not seen changes for a while, so it checks once a day. Tap Check now after you change your settings.
  • Removed. The address was removed from your site.

Steps when it is not Live

  1. Open My sites, your site, then the address.
  2. Read the box at the top. It names what is missing.
  3. Fix the settings. What are DNS records?
  4. Tap Check now. A short wait may show Check again in … s.

Good to know

  • The whole site can also show Ready — add your address when the site is built and waits for a web address.
  • Overall headlines on the page are Connecting your address, Securing your address, Your address is connected and We’re checking your address.
