How do I check that readers can sign in?

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings (replace <your-site> with your site address)

Before you start

• You need permission to see reader settings (owner or admin).
• The Reader accounts feature must be on your site, or the card says Add-on.

Steps

1. Open Settings, then Set up your site.
2. Find Reader sign-in.
3. Read the message:
   • "Choose how readers sign in: email, phone, Google or Apple." Press Set up.
   • "Readers can sign in." Nothing to do.
   • "Email sign-in is on, but email isn't connected, so readers can't sign in." Press Fix it, then connect email.
4. Choose your methods in How do I choose how readers sign in?.
