Check 1: site visibility
- Open Settings and choose Site visibility.
- Read Right now. It says who can see your site.
- To open the site to everyone, choose Make public. Check your logo, pages and first stories first.
- Confirm. The message is Your site is public. Everyone can see it now. Readers see the change within a minute.
Your team always sees the real site, even when it is hidden. Use View your site. See Viewing a hidden site.
Maintenance ends by itself. It stops after the time you chose. You can end it sooner.
Only the site owner can change visibility.
Check 2: your subscription
Look for a banner at the top of the admin:
- Renewal due. "Your subscription needs renewal. Everything keeps working until {date}." Renew in Keynate Console.
- Read-only. "Your site is read-only until the subscription is renewed. Readers can still read it." Renew to edit again.
- Licence problem. "We couldn’t verify your licence. Paid features are paused. Your site stays online."
See Read-only and suspended sites.
Check 3: is an update running?
Open Settings → Advanced → Software update. During an update the screen says "Updating… Your site stays online." It takes about a minute. If the update fails the health check, your site goes back to the version before. See My update was rolled back.
Check 4: your domain
Open Settings, then Set up your site, then the Your domain card. It shows whether your domain and its secure certificate (HTTPS) work. The domain is connected in Keynate Console, not in the admin. See My domain does not work.
Check 5: the server
Open your site in Keynate Console. See Site health. If the server is busy or restarting, wait a minute and try again.
Questions

My site is hidden. Will it still appear in Google?
While your site is not public, search engines are asked not to list it. Long periods hidden can lower your search ranking.
