Open this page: admin.<your-site>/settings/updates (replace <your-site> with your site address)
What you see
- "The update didn’t pass the health check, so your site went back to the previous version. Nothing was lost." The rollback worked. Your site runs the old version.
- "The last attempt didn’t finish, so your site was left exactly as it was. Nothing was lost. You can try again." Same.
- For a template switch: "The new template didn’t pass the safety check, so your site stayed on the version before. Nothing was lost."
- For a design build: "The build failed. Your live site was not changed." Choose View build log.
Steps: try again
- Open Settings → Advanced → Software update.
- Read What’s new for the update. The state Didn’t finish shows if the last try failed.
- Choose Update now. The screen says: "Update now? We take a backup first. If anything fails the health check, your site goes back automatically."
- Wait. The screen says "Updating… Your site stays online."

Messages you may see

| "Only the newest update can be undone." | Undo the newest first. |
| "This update changed stored data, so undoing it needs a restore. Contact Keynate support." | Contact support. |
| "Update your site to continue. It takes about a minute and your site stays online." | A feature needs the latest version. Update. |
Messages about builds
| Message | What it means |

| "A build is already running. Wait for it to finish." | Wait. |
| "This version is already live." | Nothing to do. |
| "This version isn’t built yet." | Build it first. |
| "This version is no longer stored on your server. Rebuild it first." | Choose Rebuild this version. |
| "A publish or a go-back is already on its way. Wait a minute." | Wait a minute. |
| "There’s no earlier version to go back to." | There is nothing older. |
Good to know
- You choose when. Nothing changes until you click Update now, except critical security fixes. For those you still pick the time.
- Undo an update. Choose Undo this update. Your content stays.
- Waiting for the site builder. If you see "Waiting for your server’s site builder", builds start when it connects. Your live site is unchanged.
