How do I change the name and address on my invoices?

In this story

Before you start

Sign in to keynate.com. For a business invoice in India, have your GST number (GSTIN) ready. It has 15 characters.

Steps

  1. Sign in and open Account.
  2. In the menu, tap Billing details. Or open keynate.com/account#billing.
  3. Choose your Country.
  4. Enter your Full name as it should appear on invoices.
  5. In India: choose your state, then enter your address, City and 6-digit PIN code. For a business invoice, tick I have a GST number (for business invoices), enter the GST number (GSTIN) and the Business name (as on GST registration).
  6. Outside India: enter your street address, city and, if your country uses one, the Postal code. State or region (optional) and Business name (optional) are optional.
  7. Tap Save billing details. The page says Billing details saved and "Your next invoices will show these details."

Good to know

  • Changing your billing details doesn't change any price.
  • Invoices you already have keep the details they were issued with. The new details are on your next invoices.
  • If an invoice can't be made because your name or address is missing, it waits. The page then shows Please add your billing details. As soon as you save them, the invoice is issued with the date of your payment.
  • The same fields are on the pay screen. What you enter there is saved for your next orders.

Common problems

  • "That GST number doesn't look right." It has 15 characters, like 27AAPFU0939F1ZV. Check each character.
  • "This GST number is registered in a different state." The state of the GST number must match the state you chose. Check both.
  • "Enter your 6-digit PIN code." In India the PIN code has 6 digits and doesn't start with 0.
  • "This VAT number is not registered." Check it, or leave it empty.
