How do I see which help articles readers found helpful?

In this story

Where: Stories → Help insights (Was this helpful? section)

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/niche/help/insights#was-this-helpful (replace <your-site> with your site address). In the menu it sits under More.

What readers do

  1. A reader opens an article and answers Was this helpful? with Yes or No.
  2. They can pick a reason: Out of date, Unclear, Didn't work or Other.
  3. They can add a short note. Notes need a quick human check to keep spam out.

Readers do not need to sign in.

Steps: see the scores

  1. Open Stories and choose Help insights.
  2. Choose the Period. The choices are in days.
  3. Read Was this helpful?. It shows the total, such as "12 yes, 3 no (80% helpful)".
  4. Use Sort to order the articles by Needs attention, Most votes or Most helpful.
  5. Open an article's reasons and notes to see what to fix.

Good to know

  • Needs attention. An article is flagged when fewer than 60% of at least 20 votes say it helped.
  • One vote a day. A reader's browser can vote once per article each day. This stops repeat votes.
  • Privacy. Votes are counted per article and per day. Keynate keeps no personal data for the votes. The page says: "Counted per day only; no personal data."
  • Notes are kept for 180 days.
  • Spam protection. Notes use a "human check". If it fails, the reader sees: "We couldn’t check that you’re human. Try again."

Questions

Frequently asked questions

This guide cannot confirm a setting for that.

Do votes change my search ranking?

No promise is made about that. The scores are for you, to improve your articles.
