How do I run an incident room?

In this story

Where: Newsroom → Incident room → An incident

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/newsroom/incidents (replace <your-site> with your site address). Then open the one you want.

Steps

  1. Open the incident. Its status is Open, Monitoring or Closed.
  2. Under Linked items tap Link something to add stories, live blogs, alerts, assignments and pitches. Linking does not change them.
  3. Under Timeline choose the kind of entry: Update, Decision, Note or Status. Type it.
  4. Use Mention colleagues (with @) so they get a notice with the incident name. Tap Post to timeline.
  5. Use Move to monitoring and Back to open as the event changes.
  6. Tap Close incident, write the Close-out summary, and confirm.

Good to know

  • A closed incident takes no updates. Tap Reopen to go back to monitoring. The summary stays.
  • If you can not read a linked item you see "Item #id (you can’t read it)".

Questions
