How do I see and create missing translations?

In this story

Where: Stories → Translations

Open this page: admin.<your-site>/translations (replace <your-site> with your site address). In the menu it sits under More.

Before you start

  • This page only shows on sites that have more than one language edition together. On a one-language site it says "This site has one language, so there is nothing to translate into." Languages are set in Languages.
  • Owners, admins and editors can use it.

Steps

  1. Open Stories then Translations.
  2. Pick a Language and Sort by Newest first or Most read first.
  3. Open a story to see its languages. For each missing one choose Draft with AI, Write it myself or Link a story.
  4. To draft many at once, tap Draft all with the number.
  5. Open an AI draft and tap Review. A person must check every part before it can be published.
  6. Use Unlink to remove a story from the translation group.

Good to know

  • "The original changed after this translation" means you should check the translation again.
  • Site parts per language shows how much of your site’s texts are translated (for example a percentage).
  • AI drafts are never published by themselves.
  • AI translation may be an add-on. Included in some plans: see your plan on keynate.com.
