Why does Keynate ask me to confirm it's me?

In this story

Before you start

You are signed in to keynate.com. Keep your phone or email at hand.

Steps

  1. Start your change. If Keynate needs to check, the box Confirm it's you opens.
  2. Under How do you want to confirm?, pick one:
    • Use your password: type Your password.
    • Continue with Google (or Facebook, Apple or LinkedIn, if you sign in that way): the provider opens and brings you back.
    • Email me a code: Keynate emails you a code at once. Type the 6-digit Code from the email.
  3. If two-step verification is on, also enter the Two-step verification code from your authenticator app, or a recovery code.
  4. Tap Confirm. A note says "You confirmed it's you" and Keynate carries on with your change.

Good to know

  • Keynate asks before changes such as your email address, password, sign-in methods, two-step verification, signing out other devices, your team, deleting your account, and connecting an AI app. It also asks on some site actions, like a restore, a template switch, a language change or showing the store reviewer code.
  • After you confirm, you have 10 minutes to finish without being asked again.
  • Email me a code works for everyone, even if you sign in with Google.
  • If you leave for Google and come back, Keynate remembers what you were doing.

Common problems

  • The code from the email doesn't work. Use the newest email. Tap Send a new code if it expired.
  • "We couldn't confirm it's you." Check the password or code, then try again. After too many tries you wait a short time.
  • Google opens a different account. Pick the Google account that is connected to Keynate.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why didn't I sign in fresh instead?

Confirming is quicker. You stay signed in, and only this one change is checked.

Someone else got this box on my account. What do I do?

Change your password now and sign out other devices. See Your signed-in devices and Two-step sign-in.
