Steps

  1. Sign in at keynate.com and open My sites.
  2. Open your site, then Billing: renewal, cancel, invoices.
  3. Tap Cancel subscription.
  4. Read the screen Cancel your subscription? It lists exactly what happens.
  5. Optionally choose Why are you leaving? You can leave it empty or use Clear my answer.
  6. Tap Cancel subscription. You get a confirmation email.

What happens

  • Nothing renews and Keynate does not charge you again. The open renewal invoice, if there is one, is cancelled.
  • Your site keeps running until the end date shown.
  • After that it becomes read-only. It goes offline when its server is removed.
  • Keynate keeps an encrypted final backup for the number of days shown on the page, so you can come back. Then it deletes it. Invoices are kept as the law requires.
  • The period already started is not refunded. If you were charged for a renewal and cancelled before the renewal date, or were charged twice by mistake, write to Keynate within 7 days and the charge will be refunded. See Refunds.

Change your mind

Open the same Billing page. Tap Keep my subscription. This works until the date shown. If the renewal invoice is due right away, Keynate emails it to you.

Common problems

  • "This subscription can’t be cancelled here any more." It already ended or moved on.
  • "The cancellation didn’t go through." Try again, or write to the support address shown.
  • "This site is suspended for an unpaid renewal." Nothing renews unless you pay. To close it for good, write to the support address shown.
